Caught my attention~~~~A Painting in The Sky

As I worked early in the morning something caught my attention. It was the paint job of the sky God had painted for me. I couldn't pass it by, my work could wait, I had the time to stop and appreciate. As I went outside to get closer to this great painting in the sky it was awesome to see.

The beauty of God is all around us and it would do us well to pay attention and stop long enough to appreciate it when we see it. Our hearts need to be opened up to receive such blessings as we intentionally go looking for God wherever we are.

Being a collector of black and white holstein cows I can spot a black and white cow anywhere. Even my family has gotten to where they can as well. Those cows just seem to jump out at us wherever we go. We need to be a collector of God's beauty and before we know it, it will be jumping out at us as we spot it everywhere we go.

Praise the Lord for today's painting in the sky and the artist behind it all, God our Creator. God not only created and designed the colors I was seeing but He created and designed me as well and that is something we need to look upon as one of the beauty's of God. We don't need to be the prettiest girl or the most handsome boy in town, what God sees as beauty is the soul within us, the person we are and can be if we would only allow God to paint the colors of His beauty in us. The colors of virtue, responsible, patience, loving, caring, humble, strong, merciful, upbeat, and the list goes on and on.

Not Done Knitting

In the book of Psalm in chapter 139 verse 13 it says, “You have created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” The Psalmist knew exactly where he came from and what part God played in it. What an awesome thought to know that we are not hidden from God; it is Him who is busy knitting us together in our mother’s womb.

As birth happens and life goes on God’s knitting is not yet done. The knitting of our physical body is only part of what He does. Throughout our entire life He continues to put us together as He knits us into something that goes from a ball of yarn to a beautiful masterpiece.

Unlike not being able to tear out physical boo boos and starting over in His knitting God is able to do that spiritually with us. He knows the importance of a well finished project. The body is only a temporary thing but our spiritual souls live on forever. It may take years to create, several changes of the design, corrections here and additions there but He sticks with us until the job is done.

He will not leave us in a basket somewhere half done and incomplete. He will never “close the book” on us or give up on us if we don’t close the book on Him. Our job as the one being knitted together spiritually by God is to cooperate with the one doing the knitting.

We need to trust God knowing He is the author and perfector of our faith. He knows how to knit. The wonders He can do with a simple form of a person is fantastic if we would just allow it to happen. We need faith, trust, patience, and obedience during the knitting process.

So when we stop and look at ourselves and our love ones we need to be comforted by the fact that God is not finished with us yet. No matter how tangled the yarn looks, He’s not done knitting. Praise the Lord.

They Call Me,      Grandma

**It gives me great pleasure and strength as a Grandma to know that God is not finished with my grandchildren or daughter yet. I may never see the finished product but I know it will be done well. Thank you Lord Jesus, Thank you.

Kid DEES God,the driver. We, the passengers

My grandson at the age of seven thinks it’s funny to jump in the car first and get behind the wheel and pretends he’s driving. He looks as goofy there as our black lab does when he gets in that same seat.

As excited as most people are to start driving soon they learn it’s nice to have someone else behind the wheel at times. Spiritually is no different. All we have to do is board the bus, sit back and watch the scenery go by, trusting God knows where He is going.

Recently my husband and I went to a big city to visit our niece in the hospital. In order to get to the hospital we had to ride the community bus system. Our job was getting to the station on time and finding the right bus that would take us where we needed to go. When we boarded the bus we noticed a sign at the front that said, “Do not disturb the operator while the bus is in motion.” Once we got where we needed to be all we had to do was sit down and allow the driver to do the rest.

That is the way we need to be with God. Our job is coming to Him. Showing up at the right time at the right station and being still while He takes us where we need to go spiritually. We may have to put up with a few of the characters on the bus as they put up with us but that’s okay as long as we get to our final destination of Heaven with Jesus.

Cooperation with the driver is the key. Following the rules of the bus and being patient with the journey itself is important too. We may not understand God’s logic when He makes a left or right turn or frequent stops but that is where trust comes in.

It would do us well to, “not disturb the operator while the bus was in motion” as well. The operator being God and the bus is our life in motion with Jesus as our destiny.

Picture Dees 33 Waiting for Harvest

As much as we would like to get instant results whenever we plant something it just doesn’t happen. The only person who managed that was Jack and the Beanstalk not Grandpa Don and his granddaughter Brooke who just planted their garden.

As all farmers can tell you there is a time between planting and harvesting that requires patience on our part. A waiting period that cannot be skipped, shortened, or ignored. It’s during this time that what was planted has its chance to grow. Our job is not only to patiently wait but we have to supply the necessary nutrients to enhance its growth. After all try planting a garden and then not water it. You know what you will get? A dead garden.

Daily in our lives we do things that plant seeds that will eventually grow into something. We tell our love ones we love them, we are kind to the neighbor, we do our homework, we obey our parents, we take care of our bodies by feeding it properly and not starting any bad habits such as smoking, drinking or drugs, or we break a law or rule or cause trouble at school.

These are all things that will grow a harvest in our lives. Sharing our love to our love ones will reap love in return. Being kind to a neighbor will bring in peace in the neighborhood and kindness given back. Doing our homework will reap good grades, the benefits of self-discipline, and perhaps a college scholarship in the future. Obeying our parents reaps knowledge, respect, and self-discipline. Taking care of our bodies and not starting any bad habits will harvest good health instead of lung cancer, heart attacks, or liver damage. Breaking a rule or law and causing trouble in school will get you expelled, jailed, or in further trouble.

It’s best to think about what you want growing in your life and plant what it takes to accomplish this. Next you need to wait patiently for the results to come your way. It could be within days, months, or years depending on what it was. Sitting in the garden with a plate and fork is not the way to wait. Think before you plant, water and feed what you started, weed out things that could choke out your seeds, and give it time to grow.

You may not like what you reaped but it’s exactly what you sowed or planted. The responsibility is yours. You are the one that picks the crops you grow by your actions and attitude. Check the seed packages and make sure it’s what you want to grow.

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
