Picture Dees #1 The Use of Bait

**My 10-year-old granddaughter and I are using pictures that we have taken to put devotional thoughts to them. Here is our first devotional picture. Our nickname for our devotional pictures are "Picture Dees."

It’s a fun thing to go fishing, as Brooke and Marissa know. Something else they know is the fact that depending on what they want to catch they need to use the right bait. Once the proper bait is put on the hook they will need to reel in the fishing line from time to time to see if the bait is still there. Satan is someone that likes to go fishing too. What he wants to hook is us, our souls that Christ died to save.

Unfortunately Satan has no problem putting out the right bait, that perfect snare that will hook any of us. He knows all to well what our weaknesses are that will get us to fall for his temptations. Once hooked we can give in and allow him to drag us to shore to be devoured or we can put up a good fight and jump and thrash around until we have come off the hook he tried to catch us on.

Another fisherman is Jesus, He too is out to catch as many people as He can but not to devour us but to save us from our own sins. Pulling us into His boat in a journey to Heaven. It’s either Jesus’ boat or Satan’s snare. The choice is ours and the consequences will be ours too for decisions made.

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
