Picture Dees #20 Power Source

Rising up early one morning prepared to start my day I found someone had beaten me to it. Somebody was already at work tackling the daily tasks that needed to be done. It was the power company that mysteriously showed up that morning equipped and ready to trim the necessary limbs off the trees that were growing close to the nearby power pole.

How in the world did they know that the trees needed to be trimmed? Perhaps it was the meter lady who revealed this, someone alert to the need as well as the danger of leaving it the way it was.

As Christians we need to all take on the task of being alert to the things that are growing too close to our power source Jesus Christ that can eventually be a danger to our own spiritual health. The local church, the next-door neighbor nor an angel mysteriously sent from Heaven is going to show up one morning to trim what needs to be done. They certainly can help but the task or awareness belongs to us.

Bad habits, unhealthy attitudes, selfishness, and disobedience are all limbs that grow from the wrong trees that threaten our power source. It’s up to us to pay attention, to not let these things get too far out of hand. They are things that need to be dealt with quickly and as often as it takes to keep our source of power, Jesus Christ going strong and uninterrupted in our lives.

No one likes to have their power cut off and we should feel the same about our spiritual power source in Jesus Christ. Stay alert. Recognize where your power source is and keep the lines clear and the source flowing freely. Even if it does mean that some things have to come down in order for Christ to come up in your life.

It’s our fingerprints that are on the switch that can turn Christ off or on in our lives. We have no one else to blame. It’s a bill that comes pre-paid thanks to the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. There is no disconnect notice to fear unless we allow it ourselves. Satan will do his best to camouflage what our true source of power should be and what is needed to be removed in our lives in order to get Christ to flow freely in our lives.

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
