Praise and Thanks #4

Our praise and thanks for today is…..

Praise you Lord for caring enough to listen to my cry Ps 40:1

***As far off as God seems to be sometimes, He is there listening to our every cry. Often our cries are selfish as we feel sorry for ourselves not getting our way. Just imagine how many times God has probably heard us cry over what someone else did to us and why didn’t He stop it from happening.

The true cry that He should be hearing is not over the IPOD we didn’t get for our birthday but over the wrongs we commit in our lives but a cry for His help, guidance, love, companionship, and forgiveness. A cry directed towards others not because of what they did to us but what we may be able to do for them through our prayers. People we see or know are out there such as the homeless, sick, those who don’t know Christ, the kid at school, or the stranger on the street in need.

We like the idea that God is listening to our cries but when we are told He also listens to all the other things that comes out of our hearts and mouths we don’t like to hear that. It’s true and you need to live your life remembering that. Nothing you say or think is getting past God. He’s not listening to your cries and ignoring your snotty remarks to other kids. Say and think, knowing God is listening and cares about what He hears. Listen to God as He listens to you.

Thank you for the beauty of fresh fallen snow.

***Living in an area where it occasionally snows it can be something of great beauty and we need to be thankful for that beauty. It doesn’t matter if we get a lot of it or just a little we can be thankful for this gift from God. It’s a part of a cycle that has a purpose. The purpose is not to drive us crazy because we’d rather have sunshine instead. There’s nothing like the brightness of new snow lighting up the ground like a glow worm squeezed to activate its light. This beauty from God is found everywhere if we would only look. Just watch the rain as it falls, the sun as it rises and sets, the wind as it sways the trees. When looked at through the eyes of appreciation and gratitude beauty can be found anywhere. You’d be surprised.

Remember…
We are exchanging please and thank you with Praise and thanks to God. Praising Him for who He is, thanking Him for what He has done, for the things around us, things given to us, gifts hidden all over the world for us to find.

X marks the spot!

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
