Picture DEES #44 Maze of Mirrors

At a carnival there is a ride you can go on that is a “maze of mirrors.” It is set up to where it can be difficult to get through as you frequently bump into mirrors that block your way. It seems like you are constantly running into one dead end after another.

Recently as I watched a young child go through it the man in charge of the maze was standing outside telling the little girl which way she needed to turn. “No, no,” he would shout. “Go that way or go this way.” It took her awhile to get out but eventually she did.

Life is like that as well. Its set up as a maze of mirrors to where it can be difficult to know what way to turn and which way is out. God is the man who knows the way out. He gives us the directions we need to take to accomplish getting through the best way possible.

We can either listen to His advice or we can continue to bump in to the dead-end paths we take. Paths of disobedience, thinking we can do it our own way. When we do that all we are doing is postponing a trip that could have been much quicker and a lot less painful.

Father God we praise You for being there for us to see us through the maze of life. Forgive us Father for the times we don’t listen and decide to go at it alone. Help us to be patient as we trust in Your guidance instead of our own desire to “do it ourselves.” Amen

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
