Iron sharpeneth iron

Oh, Grandma’s blushing this morning!!!! As I wrote this morning on my “In Other Words Tuesday” about mirrors and candles I found that I was nominated for a Brillante Award by Esthermay. Boy if I had a mirror close by I’d find my cheeks enhanced with the red that comes with blushing. I am honored and may God be glorified. He's the one who is number ONE! I LOVE JESUS!

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. ~Proverbs 27:17

What encouragement, I love it. Thanks Esther for letting me know that I am making a difference in God’s kingdom. That there are kids out there being touched, held, and encouraged in the same way. Sharpened to stand where the ground isn’t so level, enhanced to shine where the darkness would rather settle. Making them the shining lights for Jesus they can be no matter how small or young.

This weekend as my grandkids worked on their playhouse and tree house my 11 year granddaughter was amazed at her grandma. Although she’s been going to my house on the weekends since she was born she marveled over the fact that Grandma would take the time to go move some rocks, rearrange some old tires and worn out hubcaps to beautify their area. “I thought Grandmas always sat around and knitted all the time, you are so awesome,” she said.

We can’t sit around, we need to be taking the time to encourage and enhance the young and old and that is why I thank Esther this morning for thinking of me. I better get on the stick, or on the web and see who I can pass this honor on to!

Glory to God!

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
