I love looking at a birds nest. They are so fascinating how they are made. They have God’s name written all over them because He was the one that created the bird to do such a thing. He didn’t send them to bird nest weaving classes or anything else it’s a natural instinct that is built in them. It’s amazing the detail you see. I have yet to see a lopsided bird nest, they are all well rounded. Smooth on the inside yet rough and rugged looking on the outside.
Kind of like people, we can be smooth on the inside yet rough and rugged looking on the outside. Unlike the bird we have to be taught how to walk and to talk and other things. Life seems to be one learning process after the other.
Thanks to God we can end up well rounded in the middle where our soul is connected to Jesus although we have a lot of rough and rugged edges yet to go. No matter what, God reassures us that we are worth more to Him than the sparrow or any other creature no matter what their nest weaving skills are. (Mt 10:31)
We matter to Jesus and He needs to matter to us. He is the One who should be the center of our focus, the One we fear, the One we look to daily for our guidance, love, and forgiveness. It’s not good enough to take one semester of Bible Study 101 we need to inter-weave Christ into our lives in every area whether it’s at school, home, the grocery store, playground or wherever we go.
Where we go Jesus goes and our lives need to reflect that as the bird’s nest reflects the result of God in the bird’s life. The choice is ours, choose God and you will see the rough places become smooth as you allow Jesus to be interwoven throughout your entire life. It’s a daily process, a life time of learning.
