Praise and Thanks #6

Our praise and thanks for today is….

Praise you Lord for remembering us in our lowly state.
Ps 136:23

**Often when we get our eyes off of God and on to ourselves we think that God has long since forgotten us. We figure we have proof at our fingertips because of all the things we don’t have. For the pain and suffering we are going through, it must be because God has forgotten us, right? Wrong. It’s not God’s job to police the skies and give us everything we think we need. His eye is on a bigger and more important issue and that’s our eternal salvation. Our lowly state the Bible talks about is our behavior as sinners. We all have sinned, done things against God’s will, and fallen short of the glory of God but He doesn’t turn His back on us. He sent Christ to die in our place giving us a way to lift ourselves out of that lowly state thanks to the help of the Holy Spirit. Eventually God will give us over to that lowly sinful state if we continue in it on purpose and the outcome will not be pretty.

Since God remembers us we would do well to remember Him. His card for our birthday, His package for our special occasions is found in His word, the Bible. The promises within it, the instructions it gives us, the demonstration of love it portrays, the warnings of potential dangers it flashes before us. They are all there for you and me. Praise the Lord God, the Creator of all, recalls my name and yours a true blessing indeed to look upon and grasp in our hearts. We are not abandoned nor ever will be. See to it that you don’t abandon Him in your attitude and actions.

Thank you Lord for the beauty of music that sings your praises.

**Although we all have our own taste or “feel” for what music we like it is a beautiful thing to listen to the praises of God being sung. Words that tell our own story, tunes that carry our own beat. Throughout the Bible it talks about singing praises to the Lord. It doesn’t matter if we can sing well ourselves or not or play an instrument the music our hearts can make is what counts the most. Listen to the words. Use them to send your own songs of praise to the Lord above, the designer of our voice, the carpenter behind the intricate working of the ear. It’s not about how loud the bass is or the roll of the drums or the sound of the keyboard what’s important is the message behind the words that tell the story of praise and worship to our Lord and Savior, Christ Himself. Between here and Heaven the beat of the drums or vibrations off the guitars eventually will fade out but the message in the words will make it all the way if we sing it from heart. You don’t have to be the actual writer of the music but you can be the sender.

Thank you Lord. Thank you for this path of worship, love, adoration, and respect we can all use to express our love to You. May we never forget or doubt that for every prayer and song of praise we send they are heard by God Himself. It’s not a daily chore we “have” to do but an every day privilege, honor, and blessing we should never live without.

Remember…
We are exchanging please and thank you with Praise and thanks to God. Praising Him for who He is, thanking Him for what He has done, for the things around us, things given to us, gifts hidden all over the world for us to find. If you make an X just right and tilt your head you see a cross that why we say:

X marks the spot!

About Me

My photo
I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
