Our praise and thanks for today is….
Praise you Lord for your glorious splendor and wondrous works. Psalm 145:5
**If you were to ask many adults what some of God’s “glorious splendor and wondrous works” were they may or may not be able to come up with a good list. Its not that there is none to name the problem is we don’t try to look. We have our own idea of what would be a “great, brilliant, wonderful” act. Making us instantly rich, loaded with all the toys money could buy would be a good start we figure. Maybe throw in a trip to Disneyland or one that takes us around the world would be nice.
Sorry…… wrong measuring stick. Its one we should never use to see if God fits what we think He should in our hearts. The very tool other kids will use on you to see if you are “cool” enough to be their friend. “Hip” enough to talk to. “Good looking” enough to be seen with.
You should never allow yourself to measure up to that tool, or use it yourself on God and others to see if they fit what you think they should. Put it down and get to looking directly at God and see Him through a heart that wants to see His splendor instead of eyes looking for faults.
Let’s get started together on a list of God’s wondrous works and splendor. Add to it, build upon it. Revisit it daily when someone comes along and tries to lift before you that old measuring stick you chose to throw away.
God’s glorious splendor:
His creations He created: the world, atmosphere, animals, plants, water, you and me. The detail of each piece and how they world is marvelous thanks to God.
His love for us: Its a love that doesn’t overlook our faults but a love that helps us overcome where we are weak and walks us through life.
Peace within our hearts: In a world struggling to find peace we can have a built in peace if we allow Christ to dwell in our hearts. It’s a true peace that will carry us over into eternity.
Answer to prayers: What a glorious thing that the God of the entire universe is willing to listen to you and me. What a wondrous work in itself that He sets aside time and love reserved only for us. We don’t need all the answers to life’s questions, we know the one who has the answers, Jesus Christ.
Forgiveness; Praise the Lord through this wondrous act God is willing to forgive us when we willingly repent or are sorry for the things we do wrong.
Guidance: What a magnificent thing it is that we are not left alone here, God gives us the guidance we need through the Bible and the Holy Spirit. All we need to do is be willing to listen for the instructions that come from Him and Him alone.
Keep on going, don’t stop there, keep on naming them and looking for those wonderful works of God: _________________________________________________________

Thank you Lord for your artwork, the beauty of tall trees, rolling hills, singing birds.
**In our praise for the day we talked about one of God’s wonders being the world He created. That right there is enough for our eyes to observe to keep our hearts full of thankfulness until the end of the earth. Don’t overlook the beauty in what He himself has designed not only in nature around us but the person He designed in you. You are the only You the world will ever know. With Jesus you can be the best, don’t leave home without Him.
Remember…
We are exchanging please and thank you with Praise and thanks to God. Praising Him for who He is, thanking Him for what He has done, for the things around us, things given to us, gifts hidden all over the world for us to find. If you make an X just right and tilt your head you see a cross, that’s why we say:
X marks the spot!

About Me

- Karen
- I reside in Oregon, with my husband of 32 years. I'm a mother of one and grandmother of six, counting my two newly adopted grandsons. I teach a women’s Bible Study. In June of 2007 God asked me to take with me the things I had learned in my own Christian walk to help those traveling down similar roads. A journey that started with a head injury in Jr. High School and the epilepsy it was to create later for 7 long years. One day I was given the key to my cure. In order to have the surgery to cure the 10% of my seizures that were truly epileptic I was told I had to get rid of first the 90% that were stress caused. For the next five years I took my stress issues to the Lord, leaning and relying on Him and His word as well as catchy sayings of others to see me through. As peace, obedience to God and giving up bad habits replaced worry, stubbornness and disobedience my stress seizures began to disappear. Finally I qualified for the surgery. The end result after 20 years has been being seizure free and pill free all those years. Praise the Lord. God is the cure. I can be contacted at karijo_fluffy@yahoo.com.
